Children and Tweens

Sunday School

Every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m., our kids get to experience their own LifeGroup. Grades 1 through 4 meet in the children’s wing on the east side of our church campus. And we have a newly formed “Tween Ministry” called Route 56 for 5^th and 6^th graders, which meet across from the Fellowship Hall. They will be preparing for the transition to youth by studying Lifeway’s interactive Bible Study material “Everything You Need to Know about Being a Teenager.” We have also formed a new Children/Route 56 Council which will be planning events and activities for our two grade school ministries.

“B.L.A.S.T.” - Sunday, 11:00 a.m.

Children ages Pre-K 4 through fourth grade are encouraged to attend B.L.A.S.T. (Bible Learning and Sharing Together).  B.L.A.S.T.  begins at 11:00 a.m. and concludes at the end of the 11:00 a.m. worship service.  Children sing praise songs, learn Bible lessons through multi-media, one-on-one sessions and hands-on projects.

Girls in Action – G.A.’s – Wednesday, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

The purpose of G.A.’s is to teach girls grades 1st – 6th  about missions, focusing on missionaries all around the world. Learning occurs through storytelling, arts and crafts, drama, cooking, and games.

Royal Ambassadors — R.A.’s - Wednesday, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Royal Ambassadors is open to boys’ grades 1st – 6th. The primary purpose for R.A’s is mission education, focusing on missionaries all around the world. Activities and events throughout the year include: Flag Etiquette, State Congress (varies by location each year, always held on Good Friday), Rally at Baylor University, Summer Camp at Highland Lakes near Lake Travis, local campout (Late September early October), and seasonal activities for craft’s using mission emphasis.

Children’s Choir – Sunday, 5:00 p.m.

Our children’s choirs give boys and girls an opportunity to join others in singing praises to God.  We use singing, instruments, puzzles, games, and small group activities to have fun while learning new skills.  The children present a Christmas musical each year, and sing in the worship services on other occasions.

Sunday Night Worship for Tweens – Sunday, 6:00 p.m.

Since our 5^th and 6^th graders are inbetween our children and youth ministries, they get a chance to experience the youth-led worship on Sunday nights in the Fellowship Hall. Youth Minister Matt Cornelius teaches topics relevant to students and the youth band plays worship music that speaks to the young generation.
