Easy Answers to Difficult Questions:
- “Should I sign up for an earlier or later date?” Go early because if something comes up you can reschedule for later. It’s harder to reschedule for later.
- “Will you give me something for coming down and getting my picture taken?” YES, a free 8×10 print of the picture.
- “Can I ask my neighbor to come?” Absolutely. That might be just the incentive to get them to start coming regularly.
- “How much does it cost?” NOTHING. Just by getting your picture, you are helping the church, whether or not you buy pictures.
- “Why should I be in the directory?” It helps others get to know our church members.
- “Why should I sign up, I don’t want to be in the directory.” You can request your picture not be used and it will still be counted on our goal for 315 people to have pictures made.
- “Do I have to be a member of this church to participate?” No. In fact, we especially want you to be a part so we can get to know you. You do not have to be a member of the church.
- “Can I wait until later to set up my appointment?” You can, BUT we don’t advise it. If you wait, you may be getting your picture done at 8:30 at night or early Saturday morning.
- “What if I don’t want to have to listen to a high pressure sales pitch?” We have been promised there will be no arm twisting. You can tell the salesperson up front that you don’t want to buy anything, and you will STILL get a free 8×10 picture. Again it helps the church to get your picture made, but it does not help the church on how many pictures you buy. But with packages starting at $25, you might just change your mind. That’s entirely up to you.
- “Will it take a long time?” If everyone shows up a little early, it goes so much more smoothly. We had very little waiting time the last time. LifeTouch has combined with Olan Mills, so they really know what they are doing.
- “Why can’t you use my last picture? Don’t I still look the same?” If you really want us to answer that, we’ll say, “No, you look even better now.”
- “What if I don’t want to be in the directory because I don’t like the way I look?” The directory photos are a little bigger than a postage stamp, so don’t worry about how you look. And if you really want your photos retouched, they can do that.
- “Why are we doing this again?” It’s been three years since our last directory and our church has added 300 new members since 2012.
- “What if I read all these FAQ and I still am not convinced to sign up to get my picture made?” Would it help if we said “please”? Would you PLEASE sign up to get your picture taken, knowing that you don’t have to buy anything, that you get a free 8×10 picture, and that even if you ask to not be included, you still help the church, pretty please?
